The more I view this painting, the more I think it's one of my very best. The effects of light, smoke and boat reflections are still pleasing to my eye. It depicts an old Moray Firth trio of sailboats converted to diesel. They are the "Fountain", "Humility" and "Countess", and behind them some of the rest of the herring fleet can be seen, many of them steam drifters. The painting is 24 x 24 inches, painted in oils on hardboard, bought by a visitor to my studio late in 2009
