HMS Glasgow

Auctioned, at Chatsworth for the Royal School for the Deaf in Derby by Charles Hanson, of BBC Bargain Hunt this is the Type 42 destroyer HMS Glasgow in heavy weather like the South Atlantic where she was hit by an Argentinian 1,000lb bomb in the Falklands campaign which entered the superstructure, exiting her side. Damage repaired at sea, her participation in hostilities continued. Built at Swan Hunter's Tyneside yard mid-1970s, decommissioned 2005 24 x 18 inches oils on hardboard
