MV "St. Ninian"
£399.00Price
The "St. Ninian" approaches Lerwick harbour in fresh weather. She is viewed from near the Bressay Lighthouse, with the Scord of Quarff and the Clift hills in the background.
The ship was built in 1950 and ran between Shetland, Orkney and Leith for the North of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland Steam Navigation Co. Ltd, until she was sold to Canada for further trading when the Leith connection was no longer viable. I know that she was renamed "Bucanero" and based in the Galapagos Islands during the 1980s, but beyond this my information ceases.
